Peter and Patricia Gruber International Research Award in Neuroscience

Supported by the Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation

Background
The Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation established the Peter and Patricia Gruber International Research Award at Neuroscience in 2005 to allow promising young neuroscientists of all nationalities the opportunity to pursue education and research at a center of excellence in their field.

The award is presented each year at the Society for Neuroscience's annual meeting to recognize a young scientist who has demonstrated and continues to exhibit ongoing international collaboration based on the best science. The award includes a $25,000 prize.

Eligibility
Nominations must be made or endorsed by a SfN member. In case the nominator is not an SfN member, the nomination package must include a letter of endorsement from a current Society member. Nominees do not have to be SfN members.

Due to potential conflict of interest issues, members of the Peter and Patricia Gruber International Research Award Selection Committee cannot serve as nominators, nor should they write letters of support. Self nomination is allowed.

To be eligible, a candidate must study or work at an institution located in a country other than the country in which (s)he holds citizenship or permanent residency.

Candidates include graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, or research associates. Those at the assistant professor rank (or equivalent) or higher will not be considered.
